The strategic sector cooperation with Bangladesh

The Strategic sector cooperation (SSC) entails government to government cooperation, in which the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration functions as the Danish partner authority in different SSC projects in e.g., Latin America, Africa and Asia.

In January 2023, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration initiated a pre-project in Bangladesh. The purpose of the pre-project has been to clarify the content of a Danish-Bangladeshi strategic sector collaboration (SSC) within the food and agriculture area. The process has involved both the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, local authorities, and relevant stakeholders in Bangladesh.

The SSC project in Bangladesh will focus on the green transformation of the food and agriculture sector as a focal point, with emphasis on milk production. The project will draw on Danish strongholds within food safety and resource-efficient food, and agricultural production.

The pre-project is expected to be followed by a three-year phase in April 2024.
