What is the Organic Cuisine Label?

The Organic Cuisine Label is a free government-controlled labelling scheme for eateries. It shows the share of organic commodities purchased by the kitchen. Both public and private eateries can obtain the Organic Cuisine Label.

The label comes in three versions:

Gold (90-100%)

Silver (60-90%)

Bronze (30-60%)

Today, there are over 3500 eateries in Denmark that have the Organic Cuisine Label.

Only kitchens certified with the organic cuisine label in gold are allowed to describe themselves as “organic” kitchens.

The Organic Cuisine Label was launched in 2009 and is managed by the  Danish Veterinary and Food Administration. Each kitchen is subject to an onsite inspection at least once a year. This ensures a trustworthy organic label, certified by the Danish authorities.
