At the request of the EU Commission, Denmark and the rest of the EU have used a special exception for Ukrainian citizens traveling with pets from Ukraine to the EU/Denmark as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The EU Commission has now announced that the option for exemption ends and that Ukrainian pets must therefore be imported under normal conditions no later than 1 July 2023.
According to the EU Commission, the Ukrainian veterinary authorities have announced that they are functional and that it should be possible for Ukrainian citizens to meet the requirements for entry of pets when they travel from Ukraine to the EU in the future.
